  • Our first initiative as a group is to launch a fundraiser in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • NIST emerged from a belief in the power of community and compassion in a diverse world. We would like our alumni to come together to help those in need at a time where hope and help are much needed.
  • We are hoping to raise at least Baht 100,000, and the NIST Alumni Association (NISTAA) will also contribute THB 50,000.
  • This Campaign will be active for 2 weeks starting 29 September - 14 October 2021

The fundraising will be donated to Taejai Foundation who is partnering with government agencies and local charities to support young children in vulnerable communities. All money raised will be used to help those suffering from this pandemic around Bangkok and Thailand. The fund will be used to provide much-needed materials such as:

  • Dried food
  • UHT milk
  • Daily life materials such as soap and detergents
  • Hand gel and medicine
  • Diaper
  • Mask for children,
  • Learning materials

  • COVID and the lock-down have impacted every aspect of life as we know it. Among those severely impacted are the young children in vulnerable areas.
  • During this time, child development centers which are very much the lifeline of vulnerable young children have been forced to close. This means the children, more than 6000 in 2021, were cut off from the basic nutrition needed for their development and growth.
  • With such closure, many of their parents also lost family income from having to leave their jobs to take care of young children at home.
  • In addition to lacking basic nutrition, the children were deprived of appropriate developmental activities and environments. Researches have now proven that the first five years of a child's life is crucial in their development. These foundation years have long-lasting impacts on their academic, social, physical, and emotional development. The lack of appropriate early childhood experience does not just affect the children but our society as a whole in long run.
  • With as little as THB 145 per child, your donation can go a long way to ensure these children will have the basic necessities for them to get through this crisis and have a chance in life.
  • These children are the future of our society and at NIST we believe that no child should be left behind.
